Redcor®
Redcor® steel generically known by the trademark Cor-Ten® also known as Corten is the most popular of our steel edging finishes. Not only does Redcor® steel have a long life expectancy, its slight variation in colour and appearance makes for spectacular viewing. Redcor® Steel was developed by BlueScope. The steel is made by Australians for Australians.
Redcor® steel develops a protective layer on its surface when exposed to the weather eliminating the need for painting or galvanising.
Once exposed to the elements it can take anywhere from 4-16 weeks to achieve that nice rustic appearance.
Redcor® steel contrasts superbly with a Verdant environment. The beautiful patina process is something to behold.

REDCOR® Product Types:
SHAPESCAPER® steel planter rings
Manufactured in Australia with BlueScope® Steel
Rings are supplied as either open or closed (please see table below for the default).
All rings can be however be ordered as either “open” or “closed”. Closed rings are supplied fully riveted, while open rings feature pre-drilled holes and pre-fixed connector plates that make alignment and closure quick and easy using the supplied rivets. SHAPESCAPER® planter rings are available in eights profile heights at 100mm, 150mm, 185mm, 230mm, 290mm, 390mm, 590mm, 800mm. All rings are made from 2.0mm thick BlueScope® Steel.
All rings can be however be ordered as either “open” or “closed”. SHAPESCAPER® modular steel landscaping
Manufactured in Australia with BlueScope® SteelSHAPESCAPER® planters feature a modular design that create extremely durable and attractive REDCOR weathering steel planters suitable for both domestic and commercial installation.
The design incorporates smooth rounded edges and a top 40mm x 20mm return rim for added strength and safety. Planters are supplied in two halves that are easily joined. They can also be combined with a range of extender lengths to create your own custom designs. Pre-drilled alignment holes make assembly very quick and easy. Planters come in either a 500mm or 700mm profile height. Custom bases and feet are also available.
The SHAPESCAPER® Hexagon and Box planters can both be easily customised on site to fit a wide range of designs simply by using the extensions pieces listed below. Straight length extenders and 90° corners are typically used to modify box planters while the 60° corners are commonly used to modify hexagon planters. The planter system is however completely modular, being totally interchangeable across the range, even when joining the 500mm and 700mm profiles.
SHAPESCAPERR pre-made edging corners
Manufactured in Australia with BlueScope® SteelCorner lengths are supplied complete with connector plates and screws. Pre-drilled holes make assembly and alignment easy. SHAPESCAPER® pre-made corners are available in taller profile heights.
While the 75mm, 100mm, 150mm and 185mm can easily be shaped on site to form 90° bends the higher profiles require either the use of our custom bending service or our pre-made corners.
SHAPESCAPER® weathering steel garden edging
Manufactured in Australia with BlueScope® SteelLengths are supplied complete with connector plates, stakes and screws. Pre-drilled holes make assembly and alignment easy. SHAPESCAPER® landscape edging is a modular steel landscaping system available in eight profile heights at 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 185mm, 230mm, 290mm, 390mm and 590mm. All lengths are 2400mm long and the lower profiles can be shaped on site into angled bends or flowing curves. SHAPESCAPER® weathering steel garden edging is made using Redcor from BlueScope® steel and is equivalent in specification to “corten”.
SHAPESCAPER® stakes and connectors
Manufactured in Australia with BlueScope® SteelAll SHAPESCAPER stakes and connectors feature precision pre-drilled holes that align with corresponding holes pre-drilled along the full length of all SHAPESCAPER® edging.
A choice of holes along each length allow for either the recommended x3 stakes per length or x4 stakes per length for specific applications, such as long straight runs of edging in light soils or heavy traffic areas.
Lower profile stakes such as the 400mm long ribbed stake offer a choice of fastening heights that can be varied depending on the profile of the edging being installed along with the required fastener depth.
Stakes can be installed by matching up the corresponding holes in the edging and then secured by screwing in from the front. Alternatively stakes can be installed by screwing them in through a pre-drilled stake hole into any part of the edging along the back face.
It is important to check that all screwed fittings are placed well under the soil level and will not cause an injury while weeding etc. All fastening above soil level should be fitted off using the supplied rivets.
Galvabond®
Our galvanised steel is Galvabond is also produced by BlueScope. Developed by Australians to ensure it will handle our harsh Australian climate.
Galvanised steel will arrive on your doorstep with a mottled silver appearance. Over time it will dull off to a greyish blue appearance.
As galvanised steel is completely neutral in colour it will not take the focus off other features in your garden, instead accentuating your existing landscape.

Zam®
Developed by a large Japanese corrosion research and development team and tested by the French corrosion institute, ZAM was engineered for the automotive industry and designed for countries with the harshest weather conditions.
ZAM coating is a mixture of Zinc, aluminium and magnesium. ZAM works particularly well in marine environments and is compatible with cement-based products.
ZAM is around half the price of stainless and almost 95% as efficient. ZAM has 3 times greater corrosion resistance than galvanized steel.
ZAM edging has a high glossy satin finish and is very compatible with other landscape materials. ZAM will stand the test of time and have your home and garden looking bright and sleek for life.

REDCOR® Product Types:
SHAPESCAPER® ZAM® steel garden edging
Manufactured in Australia with NIPPON® SteelLengths are supplied complete with connector plates, stakes and screws. Pre-drilled holes make assembly and alignment easy. SHAPESCAPER® landscape edging is a modular steel landscaping system available in eight profile heights at 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 185mm, 230mm, 290mm, 390mm and 590mm. All lengths are 2400mm long and the lower profiles can be shaped on site into angled bends or flowing curves. SHAPESCAPER® ZAM steel garden edging is made using ZAM® from NIPPON® steel. In terms of corrosion resistance, ZAM® is 10 to 20 times better than hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheets.

Warranty & Return
All SHAPESCAPER™ products are covered by a 10 year guarantee to resupply structurally failed products. The warranty commences from the time of initial retail purchase. In order to gain the maximum life from your SHAPESCAPER™ product, correct installation procedures should be followed. Most conditions require the installer to apply a protective coating such as Bitumen or an Epoxy Mastic to any surface that is in contact with soil.
Limitations:
The protective ‘rust’ patina formed on weathering steel such as REDCOR® Steels influenced by environmental conditions and can vary across different locations. While the steel is developing this protective layer it is important that the steel is subject to cycles of both wet and dry conditions. This is a natural process and can take up two or three years to stabilise. Variations in the consistency and hue of the patina are not covered under this warranty. Areas exposed to high salinity, high acidity, corrosive chemicals and environments that are exposed to constantly wet conditions inhibit the formation of a stable protective patina. The use of salt or other chemical means to accelerate the weathering process can permanently damage the steels capacity to form a stable protective layer.
Exclusions:
This Warranty DOES NOT cover:
- Structural damage ie. malfunction or failure of a product caused or contributed to by:
(a) improper installation or failure to follow installation and site preparation instructions;
(b) abnormal environmental conditions eg. areas exposed to high salinity, high acidity, corrosive chemicals and environments that are exposed to constantly wet conditions;
(c) SHAPESCAPER™ products installed within 1km of a saltwater coastline or within 15m of a saltwater pool;
(d) heavy loads or mechanical abuse to products above and beyond reasonably expected and specified usage;
(e) any modification or repair which has not been authorised Landscape Engineering Pty Ltd;
(f) the use of substitute or replacement of parts not supplied by Landscape Engineering Pty Ltd.
2. Claims made in regard superficial flaking or areas of discolouration.
3. All claims made in regard to any damage arising from the installation of SHAPESCAPER™ products, including but not limited to:
(a) any staining of surrounding areas due to “run off” as the weathering process stabilises.
4. All claims other than those made by the original purchaser.
5. All claims without a dated proof of purchase.
6. SHAPESCAPER™ products that have been disturbed or relocated after the initial installation. (Please insure that all products under claim remain in-situ to allow for warranty inspection)
7. Other costs incurred, including but not limited to those for freight and re-installation.

Return
This Warranty is in addition to and not in substitution for any rights of the purchaser under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and state or territory legislation.
Returns on standard products will be subject to condition upon an inspection by a qualified staff member from Ideal Edging. The Vendor has the right to refuse the change or return of any stock if we do not consider the product to be in condition for sale. Change of material or return of any excess stocked items will incur a 15% restocking fee. Freight charges for above mentioned Stocked products does not lie with ideal edging, There are no refunds available for Custom items due to a change of mind, other than in the event the Stock can be proven it was defective from damage caused prior to dispatch from Ideal Edging Warehouse.
