Most backyards have an old patch of lawn around the house, worn by years of constant human and pet traffic. Many home-owners solve the problem with a concrete path, but what about a more visually exciting alternative? We sell a variety of natural decorative stones which looks great in native plant or informal gardens. We even have a selection of granites and substrates to extend your utility areas and driveways.
Decorative Stone and Quarry Ranges
Note: Sizes and pictures are an indication only. Quarry products are not an exact size product. When a size is listed as 20mm or 60 to 100mm there will be variations to that size as a quarry product is screened and not measured as an exact size. If you are not sure of the product colour or size please come in and have a look at the product prior to ordering. The products in the photo’s have been wet down to show the actual colours. When in the yard they will appear dusty.
Scalps –Compactable Road Base. Consists of various size particle containing course and fine aggregate to enable compaction.
Crusher Dust –Has a wide variety of uses including under Slab preparation, under Synthetic Turf preparation, pathways, anywhere you need a firm compactable base.
Bitumen Millings –Is a recycled road base material that has been produced from road millings. A densely course material capable of being used on driveways, pathways and hard stand areas. Environmentally friendly, using a recycled material instead of a natural material.
14mm Stone –Concrete Aggregate commonly used for drainage or pathways.
Red Granite – Decomposed Red Granite is used for a variety of applications where a firm base is required. It is commonly used for Driveways, Car parking areas, Nature strips, pathways. We recommend using roller or compactor for best results. Avoid laying granite when it is raining or rain is imminent. The Red Granite has an earthy colour. When first quarried or seen in the yard as a sample, it does not appear red, but after it has been wet, it oxidizes and a lovely red colour appears.
Yellow Granite –Decomposed Yellow Granite is used for a variety of applications where a firm surface is required. It is commonly used for Driveways, Car parking areas, Nature strips and pathways. We recommend using a roller or compactor for best results. Avoid laying granite when it is raining or rain is imminent. Yellow Granite has larger granite pieces through it than the red granite.
Commonly deco can be stabilised by mixing in cement at a ratio of around 8:1. (8 Deco : 1 Cement). Stabilizing creates a stronger and more durable finish while still leaving a permeable surface and gritty rustic texture. Cement can alter the colour, so choose wisely. Often an Off White Cement is used to minimise colour change.
5mm Blue Metal Drainage Gravel –Used for drainage in NSW for plumbing. It can also be used for paths.
Recycled Red Crushed Brick – Decorative stone using a recycled material. Multi Coloured Mix of crushed bricks with the red being dominant. This product is recycled, it has some verm material through it. (e.g bits of wire, small timber pieces and other building products). A bit of hen pecking through it as you are spreading it, is necessary. NOTE: It can have a fair bit of brick dust in it due to the crushing process. This generally settles to the bottom over time. This is unavoidable with this product.
