About Wholesale Sleeper Co
Our history.
Many years ago Murray Flakelar had a dream to supply railway sleepers into Canberra when he worked for the railway in the Junee area.
While working for the railway authority he was awarded contracts from various locations from out west through to the coast to remove the sleepers from the railway line which he did on weekends and holidays. With his friends he convinced to help him, they walked the tracks and hand loaded them onto trucks then drove through the night to Canberra to sell them. They have many stories from trucks breaking down in the night and staying at not so great Hotels. He has many customers to this day who remember him selling the sleepers by hand from his truck.
One day he was towed with a smashed gear box past a yard for sale in Queanbeyan, spoke to his friend Neil who wanted a new venture and the rest is History.
Both Murray and Neil had the vision to supply landscape products in Canberra and the business has evolved from just selling sleepers to the complete landscaping yard it is now.
Murray now has his son in the business and from humble beginnings it has grown to supply and deliver everything for your landscaping needs.
We are open 7 days a week and our mission is to provide great customer service and deliver products promptly.

We have concrete, Travertine, Marble, Limestone and Porcelain pavers to choose from. Wholesale Sleeper Co is also a Certified partner with Adbri Masonry, and as such, stock a lot of Adbri products which can be either picked up or delivered.
