Synthetic Turf Care and Maintenance:

For the majority of home owners, A SYN Lawn artificial turf is a considerable investment, and therefore requires a degree of maintenance to ensure you get the most out of your lawn.

Rainfall is the best cleaner, as well as the cheapest. However rain is a rarity these days, so a quick spray with a water hose can eliminate dust or pollen that may be present.

For lightly soiled areas, a basic mix of warm water with a 5% solution of mild household detergent can work wonders. Simply sponge mop the affected spot and rinse.

For heavily soiled areas, use the above procedure before mopping the area with a 3% solution of household ammonia in hot water. Rinse area thoroughly with warm water.

SynLawn products are extremely pet friendly, but additional upkeep can help unfortunate pet water related odours to a minimum. Always allow solid waste to dry and then dispose. If regular rainfall is not common, hose down the area on a regular basis to promote the drainage of urine as well as to keep the surface hygienic and unsoiled. Depending on the number of pets you own, enzyme neutralisers can effectively limit and control odours. Neutralise with a homemade mixture of white distilled vinegar with an equal amount of water. After applying was thoroughly using a water hose.

Do Not abuse your lawn:

Lit cigarettes cannot ignite the turf, but they can damage the turf by fusing the tips of the fibres together. Cigarettes, fireworks and open flames should be kept away from the turf.

Furniture and equipment with sharp or jagged edges should not be placed on the the turf as this may puncture or tear the turf.

Never leave a parked vehicle idling on the turf.

Cap off or remove sprinkler heads. Water from the sprinkler systems can leave mineral deposits on the turf that may cause discolouration.

Make sure turf is not exposed to reflected sunlight windows as this may fuse the turf fibres together.

Debunking common Myths:

The SynLawn product lines have specially designed drainage holes to ensure water drains as efficiently as natural grass. If drainage isn’t an issue now, it certainly won’t become one when you install synthetic turf.

To remove leaf particles a common leaf blower will do the trick.

SynLawn products are completely UV stable, so they do not fade. Your lawn will look as crisp and green for years to come.

SynLawn has a range of turf like the Classic 35 with the exclusive HeatBlock Technology that lowers rising temperatures by reflecting sunlight, thus reducing heat build-up.

SynLawn with HeatBlock Technology incorporates infrared pigments that help dissipate heat build-up and becomes up to 20% cooler than similar artificial products.
